A: Life in the new city

A: Very different and mostly inferior. The only advantage is being in a different culture with all the challenges … which improve my quality of life since my brain is being stimulated.

Q: How would you rate the healthcare system in which you are currently enrolled?
A: I’m enrolled in a PPO in California which I use when I’m there. Otherwise I use large, well equpiped and professionaly staffed hospitals and doctors in the capital city, 2.5 hours away.

Q: How does the cost of living compare to that of your home city?
A: Lower nut there not as many good things (resturants, theater, culture events, museums, symphonies, oeprea, amusement parks, etc.) to spend money on.

Q: Did you use a relocation company to help you with your move?
A: No

Q: How easy or difficult was the relocation process?
A: Hardest part was getting through customs in new country … but shipper handled most of that for me.

A: No

Q: What is your favourite mobile app which you use to aid you in your expat life?
A: NA

Q: What is one piece of advice you’d like to offer a new expat in your new city?
A: Get and stay out of your comfort zone. Don’t expect to save any money living abroad … if you live a fully active life style, want a nice home and car and plan to return to the US periodically, your costs will be about the same or higher than in the US.
