Gas

There is no piped gas in Thailand. LPG (Propane) is mainly used for cooking and is provided in different-sized cylinders that are available from shops along most main roads and in most villages. To purchase, head to shops with many gas cylinders stacked at the front. Prices vary depending on size and a deposit on the first bottle must be paid. When finished, the shopkeeper can deliver a new cylinder to replace an empty one.

Take note that some apartment blocks and high-rise buildings may have restrictions on the use of LPG, so it is essential to check with the building administrator. For more information, click here.
