Although it is technically an overseas dependency and not a sovereign state, the monetary unite that is officially used in Bermuda as the island's national currency is known as the Bermudian Dollar. It replaced the Bermudian Pound in the year 1970, and it has been pegged at an equivalent exchange rate to the dollar of the United States ever since the year 1972. The Bermuda dollar is divided into 100 cents.
