We all need songs to live by, so why don’t we throw in a few tracks to inspire you for your very own “Expat Playlist”. These are songs about distance, journey, home, living and loving away from home and ultimately, finding out who you are outside of your own comfort zone. Basically, these are songs that express the most common highs and lows of living the expat lifestyle.

A long distance relationship is one of the hardest type of romantic relationship one can have and this is something very common for expats. Longing for your loved one at home or abroad? Even the title, which is also the carrier song of the whole album “Transatlanticisim” suggests a “trans-atlantic” relationship.

One of the classics of rock and roll, nothing expresses the wayward spirit more than this song. For a little more positive “rock on” spirit to the whole expat lifestyle, it’s good to know or be reminded that being on our own living out of our comfort zones make us Free Birds... “and this bird you cannot change”. Expats are powerful and independent individuals and this song is a great expression of that.

Said to be Michael Bublé’s most famous original song, this is a salute to everyone who is away from home. Life on the road is tough and days of homesickness will always come in the life of an expat. So for days like these, dwell in your most cherished memories of home with this playing in the background.
