Q: Where are you originally from?
A: Finland

Q: In which city are you currently residing?
A: Rio de Janeiro

Q: What do you do in your new city?
A: I have started a subsidiary of Finnish engineering company in Brazil.

Q: How is the quality of life in your new city in comparison to that of your home city?
A: In some ways it is better in some things things are much more complicated.

Q: How would you rate the healthcare system in which you are currently enrolled?
A: Healthcare system has much more variation here than in Finland. Public healthcare is not good so you need to use private sector which is normally very expensive. You need to have some kind of insurance.



Q: How does the cost of living compare to that of your home city?
A: Much more expensive.

Q: Did you use a relocation company to help you with your move?
A: No

Q: How easy or difficult was the relocation process?
A: Actually not so difficult, only time consuming for some matters.

Q: Did you move here with any family members?
A: Yes

Q: Did your spouse and children find it difficult to adapt to their new job and schools? 
A: Yes, as my wife is Brazilian.

Q: How did the family, including you, do in acclimating to the new culture and surroundings?
A: No problems. 

Q: What is one piece of advice you’d like to offer a new expat in your new city?
A: Be ready for time consuming process for all things and relax. Things are going differently here than in your own country normally.
