School Search in Egypt

Currently, Egypt has about 149 schools, most of which are located in the capital city of Cairo. Some local Egyptian schools can also be found in the cities of Alexandria, Hurghada, SheikhZayed. Egypt’s public education is similar to most Western education systems, and it is free and compulsory for children from ages six to fourteen. Public schools in Egypt are divided into two types – Arabic and Experimental Language. Meanwhile, private schools are divided into four types: ordinary schools, language schools, religious schools and international schools. Expat parents are advised to ensure the safety of their children, as Egypt is going through a violent and unstable period of political unrest.
