Activities for Kids in Germany

Children of expat families in Germany will find many reasons to be glad for the move.

Not only does Germany offer exemplary international and independent schools, but there are plenty of opportunities for children to enjoy that they probably couldn't find back home.

Family attractions

Parents can take their children to the Oceanographic Museum Stralsund - Deutsches Meeresmuseum, a fun and educational experience, especially for those who are fascinated by marine life.

Kids who can't wait for December to enjoy Christmas can go to the German Christmas Museum Rothenberg where six-foot tall pyramids, glittering lights and a collection of Santas are among the top attractions.

Children who have tonnes of energy to spend will also find Germany a haven for:

  • Golfing
  • Hiking
  • Nordic walking
  • Horseback riding
  • Skiing in the cold season
  • Cruising
  • Rafting
  • Surfing
  • Sailing

When everyone is tired at the end of the day, they can relax at the water park at Therme Erding near Munich which is Europe's biggest thermal spa or explore the continent's oldest film studio, the Bavaria Film City Munich. For some creepy, spine-chilling adventure, the children can walk underground on a Salt Mine Berchtesgaden cave tour.

There are many things awaiting kids in Germany and all it takes for them is to get there and have fun.
