Moving Services in Malaysia

There are some legal requirements involved for moving to Malaysia. However, visitors from several countries, including the United States, are allowed to enter Malaysia without getting a visa first. On the other hand, nationals of Israel, Serbia, Montenegro and Afghanistan may not visit Malaysia without special approval from the Malaysian government's Ministry of Home Affairs. Those who need any kind of visa need to have a sponsor in Malaysia, and a passport valid for at least six months from the date the visa is issued by a Malaysian consulate.

 

Visas are of three categories - Single entry visa, good for visits of 3 months, multiple entry visa, used mainly for business or government reasons and valid for 3 to 12 months, and transit visa, for people making brief stopovers in Malaysia.

 

Some visas also require a reference from the Malaysian Department of Immigration. Upon arriving in Malaysia, one is required to present proof of sufficient funds and a return ticket. They then receive a social visit entry pass, which is usually short term, though it may be long term in cases such as foreign dependents of Malaysian residents. Travel documents are also required for travelling between East Malaysia and West Malaysia.
