Education Services in Netherlands

There are more than 8500 schools located in the Netherlands, and the number of students who attend classes has reached three and a half million children. The primary language of instruction in the Netherlands is typically the Dutch language, although some schools where classes are offered in the English language may also be found. Schools in the Netherlands have a wide range of latitude when it comes to what sort of information they may pass on to their class rooms.

There are some legal regulations concerning such matters as how many hours per year of instruction are considered sufficient, and the nature of the goals and objectives for successfully passing examinations, and the like. All children and youths residing anywhere in the Netherlands are required to fully attend classes every school day if they are between the ages of 5 and 16; and when they turn 17 years old they must attend at least one day a week for the remainder of that school year.

The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science is the government portfolio that handles all subjects within the general field of education. Dutch universities make it possible to obtain bachelors or master degree, and finally a doctorate.
