Moving Services in Oman

There is technically little legal possibility of moving to Oman on a permanent basis from another nation, and it is almost impossible for anyone who is not Omani to become a citizen of Oman. Non Omanis are also restricted from possessing land in Oman. Residents of fellow Gulf Council States may visit without any visas, but all other foreigners are required to obtain a visa before visiting Oman. This necessitates a sponsor, which can be an Omani hotel for tourists coming on vacation. There are three month tourist visas that cost roughly US $45 and six month visitor visas that cost around US $72. Those arriving to jobs in Oman have to be sponsored by a firm in Oman that has previously offered them an available position to obtain their residence visa. Candidate visa recipients also need to pass a health exam, which includes testing for HIV. It is possible for applicants to get the residence visa while already in Oman on a tourist visa, and the employing firm will deal with much of the additional paperwork. The Civil ID card that is issued upon approval of residence status is required to be carried on the cardholder at all times, as the Omani state keeps watch over its vast expat immigrant workforce.
