Activities for Kids in Switzerland

Switzerland is one of those countries where expats least worry about their children’s education. They know this will be well taken care of by any of its top performing international schools from pre-school to advanced education.

The Aiglon College, Lyceum Alpinum, Swiss International School - Zurich North and International School of Geneva are only a few of the best performing institutions in the country. On top of that, there are international schools in Switzerland which are dedicated to expat children with disabilities.

On the fun side, expat children in Switzerland can get all the thrills they can think of, starting with Aqua Splash Renens (Lausanne) which is about halfway between a resort and a sports center. Children are going to love to splash into those heated pools with slides or just play volleyball, football and badminton.

If they want festivals, that's what they'll get at May Day where wacky costumes of Silvesterkläuse and Vogel Gryff are the norm of the day, along with some cow fights and other exciting competitions.

Kids who want to pump some adrenaline can do that paragliding and hang-gliding or flying in a hot air balloon at Chateau d'Oex which is one of the best places to do this. Education and entertainment combine at the Ecco Club Migros in Lausanne where children can learn to do something new, from cooking to cartooning.

Indeed, there are many things expat kids can do to enrich themselves, whether through play or while acquiring education at a reputed international or independent school in Switzerland. Of course, their parents are the happiest.
