Useful links in Geneva
Getting telecommunication services in Geneva can be complicated if you're not aware of a few rules in the country. For example, As a foreigner without a C-permit, you might be required to pay a deposit of up to CHF 1000 before your phone line is connected. This will be repaid with interest upon cancellation of the contract.
If the apartment you have rented does not have a phone line, you will most likely have to pay the phone company to install one. Call and make an appointment with the service provider to make the installation. Make sure you are at home at the arranged time – the engineer will most likely arrive on time and will not wait around for you. In which case, it may mean having to pay for a return visit.
