Moving Services in Thailand

Moving to Thailand requires permission from the Thai Government. People from some countries are allowed to visit Thailand for 30 days without a visa, but others need a visa to be able to visit for up to 15 days. Tourists who cross into Thailand over a land border get 15 days in Thailand. Because some tourists repeatedly attempt to cross into Thailand and renew their visas every 15 days, the Thai government has put a limit of three times in a row of crossing over a land border for a tourist visa, with a fourth time in a row meaning no further entry would be possible for that tourist by land ever again.

 

Longer visas are possible for those who have some reason to visit Thailand. It is also possible to get a three year multiple entry visa that allows the holder to make as many 90 day visits to Thailand as desired. Getting a visa for Thailand requires having a passport that is still valid for 6 months. It also requires a return trip airline ticket and proof of sufficient funds to get by in Thailand during one's stay as well as passport style photos.

 

The official policy in Thailand is that people in these passport photos should not be smiling because passport photos are a serious matter.
