Moving Services in Turkey

Everyone coming into Turkey from another country needs to have a passport that is valid for at least three months. People from certain countries do not need anything else to enter Turkey as a visitor, but those from elsewhere will need to have a visa first from a Turkish embassy or consulate located in their native country.

 

The process for getting the application approved could take a few months. Requirements include proof of sufficient funds, proof of return ticket, proof of health insurance coverage, proof of hotel reservation or other accommodation, and the visa processing fee. A residence permit is required to live in Turkey, and a work permit is required to be employed in Turkey.

 

Aside from tourist visas, which are valid for tourists to come into Turkey for 90 days, there are a variety of specialised visas, like the business visa, student visa, residence visa, work visa, research visa and film visa. The research visa covers those who are seeking to come to Turkey for purposes of conducting an archaeological dig. The film visa is appropriate for people who are filming major commercial films on location in Turkey. These last two visas do not come from consulates but from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
