Insurer Launches Insurance Plan for UAE Domestic Workers
Islamic insurer Noor Takaful launched an insurance plan for thousands of domestic workers in the UAE. Private sponsors of UAE’s 400,000 domestic workers may now insure their employees through the Domestic Aid Medical Plan, the first personalized product for blue-collar workers. The plan provides insurance cover for illnesses, accidents, loss of life and repatriation.
Parvaiz Siddiq, chief executive officer of Noor Takaful, said: “The Domestic Aid Medical Plan will ensure that this important market segment receives the quality Takaful medical services it justly deserves. I would urge all employers of domestic staff to seize this opportunity to ensure their privately sponsored workers are properly covered in the event of the unexpected happening.”
The plan is currently available in Dubai and the northern emirates, but may soon be offered in Abu Dhabi. The maximum aggregate limit per person per year is Dh50,000 with additional Dh50,000 death benefit and Dh10,000 for the repatriation of mortal remains.
